St. Nicholas Apostolate is affiliated organization of Holy Resurrection Parish for the works of social concern and charity (cf. Eparchial Statutes 218-219). Established per request of Bishop Pataki on both the Eparchial and parishes' level, ministry was continuosly alive at St. Andrew's and St. Michael's Churches. Holy Resurrection is also today collecting and distributing monies to parishioners who are in need of help.
St. Nicholas Apostolate is led by parish priest and the help of the apostolate is per priest's discretion. There are also two appointed trustees of the fund to help father each month to discuss fundraising and determine how best to meet the needs of our parish. These trustees are Elizabeth Budnik and Taime Weaver.
You can contribute to the Apostolate throught the basket in the vestibule or by mail. St. Nicholas Apostalate is having standalone account and therefore please make checks payable to "Holy Resurrection Parish" and put in memo "St. Nicholas Apostolate".
Medical or Financial Needs of Parishioners - In this difficult time of COVID-19, when so many are in need, in order to use funds prudently the decision has been made to limit the scope of the St. Nicholas Apostolate to helping primarily members of Holy Resurrection Parish. Thank you to those who have contributed, as it allows us to support parishioners struggling with various hardships.
Funds are distributed per priestly discretion. In case of the struggle, you can also approach a trustees of fund to share your needs. The distribution is strictly confidential and coming with no judgments.
Gift Card Roundup! - Gift cards are a great way to help those in need through the St. Nicholas Apostolate. Cards may be put in the St. Nicholas Apostolate collection basket. Especially helpful are cards to grocery stores and pharmacies.
For Example: Giant Eagle, Walmart, Target, CVS, Visa. Thank you for your generosity!
These cards are distributed to everyone in the times of need and especially during holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
Fill This House Gift Card Collection - Organized for several years at St. Stephen's, we will organize again a gift card collection for Fill This House. Fill This House serves former foster children as they age out and need some support living on their own. Gift cards to Walmart, Target, or Amazon would be greatly appreciated. There is a gift box as you enter the church where you can drop your gift card through December 26th.
