Holy Resurrection Byzantine Catholic Parish is a vibrant community of Byzantine Catholics known for its beautiful Eastern liturgy and strong community spirit. The parish was created on October 1, 2019, through the merger of three older parishes (sorted by the year of foundation): St. Michael in Fairport Harbor (1926), St. Stephen in Euclid (1959), and St. Andrew in Mentor-on-the-Lake (1981).
The parish belongs to the Ruthenian Byzantine tradition and is a parish of the Eparchy of Parma under omophorion (i.e. pastoral leadership and protection) of Bishop Robert (PIPTA). The community provides a welcoming environment for families and individuals.
The regular services every weekend include: the Sunday Vespers and the Divine Liturgy on Saturdays evenings and the Third Hour and the Divine Liturgy on Sundays. Additionally, it provides various ministries, such as ECF (Sunday Religious School), the Myrrh Bearers Ministry, the St. Nicholas Apostolate, etc., which support the church’s mission and charitable activities.
The church interior is appreciated for its traditional Byzantine architecture and peaceful atmosphere. The iconostasis is considered one of the finest pieces of artwork in the United States. Therefore our church became over the years preferred venue for many festal celebrations, ordinations, weddings, and other public events.
